Expanding the Possibilities
Damn Fool Productions is grounded in the belief that men can find far more meaning, purpose, and possibility than the narrow roles traditionally assigned to them.
Through films, essays, training programs, curricula, and public events, DFP creates and shares work that explores healthier expressions of masculinity, advances gender equality, and opens space for the honest conversations these issues demand.
Healthy Masculinity. Period.
The world is full of possibility, but it is also deeply troubled. We cannot build something better without changing the ideas, systems, and behaviors that brought us here. The thinking that created these problems will not solve them.
We need to rethink, reconsider, rebuild, and imagine new possibilities. Better ways of being are possible… and already beginning to emerge.
At Damn Fool Productions, we recognize that something is broken in the way masculinity has been defined and practiced. We also believe it can change.
Together, men and women can challenge what no longer serves us and help shape a healthier, more equitable, and more life-affirming world.

What We Do
Writing & Thought Leadership
We produce and support films that explore masculinity through authentic stories, real people, and the cultural forces that shape their lives. These are not abstract ideas. They are lived experiences with real consequences.
Through essays, articles, and long-form work, we examine the expectations placed on men, how those expectations can limit us and affect the people we love, and the broader possibilities that can lead to greater purpose, connection, and fulfillment.
Educational Media
We develop and support content that helps men and boys choose healthier ways of thinking and acting, both in responding to harm and preventing it through bystander intervention, accountability, and social responsibility.
About Damn Fool Productions
Damn Fool Productions is led by Wade Channell, J.D.
After eight years practicing international commercial law, Wade began a 30-year career in international development with USAID. His work focused on removing unnecessary barriers to healthy, inclusive economies.
Over time, he came to understand that these barriers affected men and women differently, and that his own perspective as a man had sometimes prevented him from seeing how women were being left behind.
As USAID’s Senior Economic Growth Advisor for Gender, Wade explored how many of the economic disadvantages facing women were rooted in cultural expectations that harmed everyone, including men.
Wade has worked in more than 50 countries and traveled through many more. Amid extraordinary diversity, he also encountered a remarkable commonality: people want to do the right thing, care for those they love, and make a meaningful contribution to the world.
The question is not whether we make a difference. We all do. The question is what kind of difference we choose to make.
Confessions of a Swedish Man
Damn Fool Productions is a proud coproducer of Hampus Linder’s award-winning documentary: Confessions of a Swedish Man.
The film documents the experience of a new father who explores what it means to be a father while asking how we can keep the scars from our own fathers from becoming the wounds of our sons.
From quiet conversations to intensive masculinity camps, Confessions explores identity, expectations, and social norms around what it means to be a man.
