Expanding the Possibilities
Damn Fool Productions stands for proposition that there is more - much more - meaning and purpose for men than the limited and limiting roles we have traditionally been offered. To get there, DFP promotes the creation and dissemination of film, blogs, training, curricula, and events that explore healthy masculinity and gender equality - and the conversations around those issues.
Damn Fool Productions is about healthy masculinity. Period.
Let’s face it - the world is full of possibility, but it’s also a mess. And we can’t fix that unless we change some things. To paraphrase Einstein, the thinking that got us into this mess can’t get us out of it.
We need to rethink, reconsider, revise, revamp, rebuild. We need something better. And it’s out there.
At DFP, we know that something is broken in the world of men. But we also believe we can change that. Together. Men and women willing to mold a better world.

What We Do
Writing & Thought Leadership
We produce and support films that explore masculinity through real stories, real people, and real cultural contexts. These are not abstract ideas—they are lived experiences.
Through essays, articles, and long-form work, we explore the expectations placed on men, show how those expectations can constrain us (and those we love), and offer broader options that enhance our lives through purpose and connection.
Educational Media
We develop and support content designed to help men and boys opt for healthier behaviors, both responsive and proactive—like bystander intervention, accountability, and social responsibility.
Who We AreDamn Fool Productions is led by Wade Channell, J.D. After eight years of international commercial law, he started a 30-year career in international development with USAID, when he built projects to remove unnecessary barriers to healthy economies. Eventually, Wade stumbled into the realization that these barriers were different for men and women, and how his male-only perspective left women behind.
As USAID’s Senior Economic Growth Advisor for Gender, Wade learned that the problematic economic indicators afflicting women resulted from unhelpful cultural concepts that were hurting everyone, including men.
Wade has worked in more than 50 countries and spent time in many more. Amid the incredible diversity and difference he saw a remarkable commonality as well. People who want to do the right thing, to take care of those they love, to make a difference in the world. The question is not whether we make a difference - all of us do - it’s what kind of difference we make.
Confessions of a Swedish Man
Damn Fool Productions is a proud coproducer of Hampus Linder’s award-winning documentary: Confessions of a Swedish Man. The film documents the experience of a new father who explores what it means to be a father while asking how we can keep the scars from our own fathers from becoming the wounds of our sons. From quiet conversations to intensive masculinity camps, Confessions explores identity, expectations, and social norms around what it means to be a man.

There is more. Much more.
To get there we’re asking more questions, better questions.
And when we find better answers, we change.
Will we build a better world this week? Probably not, but many people, making small changes together, can have a massive impact.
